DREI Tunisia
September 27, 2022
The Tunisian Solar Plan (TSP) is Tunisia’s official long-term plan for renewable energy. The TSP sets out Tunisia’s ambition to harness its renewable energy resources in order to advance Tunisia’s sustainable development. It includes specific 2030 targets for investment in wind energy, solar photovoltaic and concentrated solar power.
Over a period of several years until 2021, UNDP assisted the Government of Tunisia with a Global Environment Facility funded project to support the development of a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) for the TSP. The national implementing partner for the project is the Tunisian National Agency for Energy Conservation (Agence Nationale pour la Maîtrise de l'Energie, ANME).
UNDP has performed two DREI analyses as part of the project.
-
2014 study: performed at project design
-
2018 study: performed at project implementation
The results provide quantitative data on the cost effectiveness of government measures. The aim is to assist in the selection of the government interventions which can be included in the NAMA.
