Fourth National Communication of Georgia under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

The document analyses the climate change impacts on the country’s most important and vulnerable sectors such as agriculture, tourism, health, energy, also on the different components and resources of the environment such as forestry, biodiversity, protected territories, underground water and coastal zones, cultural heritage sites, etc. and identifies existing initiatives and needs, which allows the country to plan concrete projects and processes accordingly.
The report includes the information on greenhouse gas emissions not controlled by the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer and the general description of steps taken or envisaged by the country to implement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The document was prepared by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia with the support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) within the framework of the project "Fourth National Communication and Second Biennial Update Report to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change".
