GBV Initiative Project

Objectives:

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Indonesian National Police and Jakarta Metropolitan Police to handle the increasing digital sex crime through a survivor-centered approach, particularly in the following areas:

  1. Digital sex crime investigation techniques

  2. Establishment of victim-centric reporting and police response system as well as effective victim protection mechanism

  3. Public awareness raising and development of education materials.

Gender and Social Inclusion Approach

  1. The project leveraged lessons learned from the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) and emphasizes a victim-oriented approach by enhancing the investigative and support capabilities of law enforcement agencies to tackle digital sex crimes in a survivor-centered manner., through training and online discussion.
  2. The project facilitated inter-division coordination of the police (such as strengthening collaboration between women and children support unit and special unit for cybercrime), strengthen coordination among relevant Ministries, and collaboration with civil society organizations through a series of knowledge sharing and capacity building activities, in the three main areas:
  3. The project supported on developing online GBV investigation techniques.
  4. The Establishment of victim-centric reporting and police response system as well as effective victim protection mechanism.
  5. Development of education materials.
