People in Need of Social Welfare Services (identified in Indonesia as Pemerlu Pelayanan Kesejahteraan Sosial - PPKS), especially street workers, face complex economic and social challenges. This research was conducted to understand more about their lives, their goals, and the challenges they face. With this understanding, it is expected that better solutions or programs can be developed to support their welfare.

This research involved 30 individuals who are PPKS in Jakarta. A qualitative approach, consisting of scoping, informal conversations, and participatory focus group discussions was used to gain a more comprehensive understanding of street workers’ daily lives, aspirations, and challenges. The findings of this study cover several important aspects of the lives of PPKS, as outlined below.
