Feasibility Study on Sustainability-Linked Financing

August 20, 2024

UNDP Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Sharia Fintech Indonesia (AFSI), proposes a business model to integrate sustainability-linked financing (SLF) with Islamic fintech through a feasibility study. The report explores the Indonesian context of SLF and Islamic fintech, detailing concepts, frameworks, and their interrelationship based on stakeholders’ perspectives. It also includes applicable business models and an implementation roadmap. The study investigates the feasibility of SLF in the Islamic fintech sector, aiming to drive positive environmental and social impacts while providing financial returns for investors. Information was gathered through interviews, focus group discussions, and secondary literature, focusing on SLF from the Islamic perspective, particularly within Islamic fintech. The study confirms that SLF can be implemented in Indonesia if all necessary enablers are in place.
