Volunteering opportunity to be part of a Youth Municipal Council

UNDP’s Local Elections (& Local Governance) project, with support from the European Union, announces the launch of a simulation of a Youth Municipal Council (YMC). We are looking for a group of motivated and ambitious youth (aged 18-30), who are interested in civic engagement and democratic participation at the local level and who are thriller to take part of this YMC pilot initiative covering several municipalities in Tripoli.
The selected youth will work in close cooperation with the Municipal Council Support Team of the UNDP project, and will engage with several municipal councils of greater Tripoli after an induction and training period. YMC will also engage with citizens and specifically the youth of the municipalities.
Minimum Requirement:
- Applicants must be a resident of Greater Tripoli.
- Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age.
Desirable requirements:
- Working knowledge of the English language (writing & speaking).
- Experience in working with civil society organizations in Libya.
- Computer literacy and ability to use Office software.
Key soft skills required:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team.
- Good time management skills
- Strong work ethics.
