UNDP Mauritius 2024 Annual Report

UNDP Mauritius 2024 Annual Report
April 11, 2025
In a year marked by economic recovery and persistent challenges, UNDP Mauritius remained steadfast in its support to national priorities. While GDP growth reached 4.7% in 2024 (source: Statistics Mauritius), inflation and rising living costs strained household resilience, especially among the most vulnerable. Structural issues, climate-related risks, and a reliance on imports continued to expose the country to global shocks. UNDP responded through targeted initiatives to enhance food and energy security, promote gender equality, and strengthen public services via digital solutions. Key areas of intervention included sustainable agriculture, marine conservation, biodiversity protection, and empowering artisanal fishers through the blue economy. The organisation also supported the transition to clean energy and disaster preparedness, while advancing impactful investment and inclusive growth. As Mauritius sets ambitious climate and economic reform goals, UNDP remains a trusted partner, committed to building resilience and fostering sustainable development for all.
