UNDP is a leading UN agency in bringing together multi-sector partners to support electoral processes and institutions, and in turn promote long-term capacity development, legal and institutional reform, and civic engagement. With approximately 50 electoral projects per year, many of them in Sub-Saharan Africa, UNDP is well placed to facilitate a South-South exchange to help connect knowledge and good practices on electoral processes. Over the years, UNDP has contributed to analysis and knowledge products on election-related issues at both country and global levels. This brief chronicles UNDP support for governance, including electoral processes in preparedness for the 2020/2021 election in Uganda.
