Funding Facility for Stabilization - Quarter Two Report 2023
September 12, 2023
The Funding Facility for Stabilization (FFS) has completed 3,651 projects by 30 June 2023, across the five liberated governorates of Anbar, Diyala, Kirkuk, Ninewa, and Salah al-Din. This critical stabilization support has facilitated the return of 5 million displaced Iraqis to their areas of origin.
The FFS continues to work closely with all relevant stakeholders and is increasingly utilizing an integrated approach to stabilization, scaling up “softer” programming components to support the return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their communities. The FFS is increasingly focusing on providing an enabling environment for peace through strengthening community-level peace mechanisms and creating platforms for dialogue among the communities, government representatives, and members of the security sector. The FFS will continue to mainstream gender, human rights, conflict sensitivity, and sustainability principles, central to its activities across all four windows of work in the liberated governorates.
