Climate Promise 2

Full Project Title: Climate Promise 2

Brief Description:

The project aims to support Zimbabwe in turning its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) pledges into action towards net-zero, climate-resilient, and sustainable development pathways. Building on the results, experience, and momentum of the first phase, the initiative aims to scale up support to deliver and track ambitious climate action across sectors and thematic areas to achieve the bold targets outlined in revised and enhanced NDCs.

Climate Promise supports countries to mobilize both public and private investments to realize NDC targets while also simultaneously achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A key lesson from Climate Promise 1 was that more included NDCs tend to be more ambitious. Inclusive stakeholder engagement and strong partnerships will help deliver on NDCs while supporting all actors to be agents of change and continuing to advocate for ambition.

The project will also empower marginalized groups, such as women and youth, to bring their unique voices, leadership, and skills to NDC implementation.
