Overview

The Regional Project ‘Greening the Future, Advancing Rights and Stability: Spurring an Inclusive and Green Transition with Responsive Governance in the Eastern Neighborhood Region’ is funded by the Government of Denmark and implemented by UNDP. 

Focusing on Georgia and Moldova, the US$10.8 million initiative spans from 2024 to 2027 aiming to bolster environmental governance and foster a climate-sensitive economy. Out of the total budget, approximately US$4.29 million is allocated to Georgia, US$4.27 million to Moldova, and US$2.2 million to fund enhanced regional cooperation efforts between the two countries.

What We Do

In Georgia, the project activities cover Poti and Khobi municipalities and are shaped around four key objectives:

1. Improved Local Planning: Developing participatory and evidence-based policies.
2. Increased Access to Inclusive and Innovative Municipal Services.
3. Public Engagement: Fostering support for sustainable local development.
4. Increased Local Capacities: Promoting green transition and energy efficiency.
