The area of the assessment covers Jaffna, Mannar, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya and Kilinochchi Districts of Northern Province which consists of 15 DSDs in Jaffna, 5 DSDs in Mannar, 4 DSDs in Vavuniya, 6 DSDs in Mullaitivu and 4 DSDs in Kilinochchi Districts. In that, 1 Municipal Council (MC), 3 Urban Councils (UCs) and 13 Pradeshiya Sabhas (PS) in Jaffna District; 1 UC and 4 PSs in Mannar District. Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi have no Municipal Councils whereas Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi Districts do not have a single Urban Council. Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi Districts have 4 PSs, 4 PSs and 3 PSs, respectively. The total area covered under the study was 8,931 sq.km.
