Methodologies for Hazards Assessment, Modelling and Mapping
November 19, 2021
The set of publications includes the methodologies for modelling and mapping of six hazards: drought, snow avalanche, landslide, mudflow, windstorm and hailstorm. It is based on detailed desk research and comparative analysis of the best international, regional and local practices of hazard modelling and mapping. The methodologies build on the best advances in the fields of drought, snow avalanche, landslide, mudflow, windstorm and hailstorm modelling for these hazard risk mapping and near-real-time hazard monitoring models.
The methodologies describe the entire process of building the hazard models that will allow stakeholders to understand the proposed system and discuss the benefit of such implementation for the Georgian context.
The publications were prepared by international experts in partnership with the LEPL National Environmental Agency (NEA) of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
