Disaster Risk Reduction Capacity Assessment Report. 2014
January 14, 2015
Georgia is prone to disasters that pose a significant threat to different sectors of economy and to human development.
The present report provides an in-depth analysis of capacity strengths and gaps related to disaster risk reduction in Georgia, based on a tested methodology developed by the Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI). The findings of the assessment are structured according to the five Priorities for Action identified in the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA): national and local ownership for DRR; risk identification, assessment, monitoring and early warning; knowledge, innovation and induction for a culture of resilience; reducing underlying risk factors; and disaster preparedness for effective response.
