Rethinking Circular Economy: Integrating Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion

May 13, 2024

Rethinking Circular Economy: Integrating Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion is a resource material which seeks to assist circular economy practitioners in appreciating the linkages between GEDSI and circular economy. The publication examines the interplay between the shift to circularity, and issues of poverty, informal economy, disability and gender. Analyzing circular economy from the vantage point of women, persons with disability and informal waste workers’ needs and concerns, the report offers a diverse range of recommended activities to mainstream GEDSI into circular economy.

The publication was produced under the UNDP Accelerating Nationally Determined Contribution through Circular Economy in Cities (ACE) Project, a UNDP Project implemented in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources through the financial support of the Government of Japan.
