The Sri Lankan Government has taken many decisions to establish mini scale (below 10MW) biomass (Dendro) power plants during last 36 years but the establishments are progressing very slowly.

This study presents the feasibility of small-scale biomass power plants by identifying appropriate technology, evaluating financial feasibility and establishes aspects of the supply chain for the plant for smooth operation. This analysis has been done selecting a specific location for establishment of small scale biomass power plant in Ratnapura district.
