Updated e-service in Diia: IDPs can now apply for aid for the whole family
April 9, 2024
Kyiv, 9 April 2024 – The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has updated its service for internally displaced persons (IDPs) registering in the Diia application. From now on, it is possible for a person to register as an IDP and simultaneously apply for financial assistance for their whole family with one application.
The service was implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation together with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, with support from the Eastern Europe Fund and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine as part of the Swedish-government-funded DIA Support project.
Previously, it was possible to apply for a certificate of an IDP and financial assistance only for oneself and a child. Now one application can be submitted for a whole family: for yourself, a spouse, and children. It is also possible to apply for aid payments for children who were born after the family relocated.
To use the service, simply:
- Open the application (making sure it has been updated);
- In the Services section, select “Get IDP certificate”;
- Specify your address of the current place of residence and confirm with phone location;
- Enter data on family members;
- Select an ePidtrymka card on which to receive financial assistance;
- Indicate the help that is needed – for medical care, education, or humanitarian aid, and leave contact details.
Once issued, the IDP certificate will appear in the Diia app next to the user’s other digital documents, and the assistance for all family members will be sent to the ePidtrymka card.
The service is available only to citizens who do not yet have an IDP certificate. People who have moved abroad or are in the temporarily occupied territories cannot receive an IDP certificate or assistance.
A comprehensive service for registering as an IDP and receiving financial assistance from the state was launched in the Diia app in April 2022. Since its launch, more than 1.4 million people have used the service. Later, in December 2022, it was supplemented with new services – in particular, IDPs were able to notify the state about a change of residence and cancel their IDP status in Diia. All of the above-mentioned services were developed with the support of the UNDP in Ukraine and the Government of Sweden, as part of the DIA Support Project.
