Democratic Governance
Summary
UNDP’s Democratic Governance Programme supports Georgia in building resilient democratic institutions aligned with the national priorities of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Association Agreement with the European Union.
We aim to advance institutional development and democratic reforms at national and local levels, ensuring a balance of power, fostering decentralisation, and promoting gender-responsive policies, social inclusion, and the rule of law. Our efforts also enhance citizen engagement and the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
With global expertise and a deep understanding of Georgia’s local context, UNDP brings people and institutions together to build partnerships, accountability, equal participation, and effectiveness. We work to bridge the gender gap in political representation, public sector leadership and access to justice, fostering an inclusive and democratic governance system.
