Urban Strategy
December 6, 2017
UNDP Indonesia through its Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (SUDS) will support Indonesian cities in alleviating urban poverty and becoming sustainable, inclusive, and resilient. In doing so, the strategy has prioritized six areas of engagement including governance, energy, transportation, water and sanitation, waste management, and disaster risk reduction in strengthening the capacity of cities while working to prevent and mitigate the effects of disaster on these public service areas. In addition, UNDP will be working with city governments to promote specific approaches in supporting sustainability and the SDGs. Some of these approaches include transit-oriented development, renewable energy, and e-governance. For more information regarding the strategy, please read our publication on SUDS or you can contact Mr. Maurice Shawndefar, Urban Specialist, via email maurice.shawndefar@undp.org.
