As part of UNDP support to the gender equality agenda in consultation with all stakeholders the support was provided to the subnational governments' Women's Empowerment Departments across Iraq in developing their Gender Equality & Women's Empowerment Policies. This policy sets out the Women's Empowerment Department's vision, mission, policy objectives and recommended actions, to advance the gender equality agenda in their respective governorates. This is pursuant to the Government’s constitutional obligations and international commitments.
