Albania Development Finance Assessment

Albania Development Finance Assessment

July 15, 2024

The Albania Development Finance Assessment provides a comprehensive review of the country’s financial landscape, helping to identify strengths and weaknesses in the financial system and how they affect development objectives and progress towards SDGs. The report explores financing instruments and mechanisms, policies, institutions, and capacities in place in Albania, with the aim of highlighting existing resources, policies, institutions, capacities, and monitoring tools; emerging initiatives to strengthen resource mobilization, policies, institutions, capacities, and monitoring; and future opportunities to further strengthen policies, institutions, capacities, and monitoring to aim for a more integrated approach to development financing.

The report is the result of study and research conducted during 2022-2023 under the scope of the UN Joint Project “Strategic Policy Options for SDG Financing”, funded by the Joint SDG Fund, implemented under the lead of UNDP, in collaboration with UNICEF and ILO. It contributes to the completion of the first Integrated National Financing Framework for Albania.
