Disaster Response and Recovery Facility (DRRF)
Background
In line with the Sendai Framework of Action and the Government of Bangladesh’s 7th FYP, renewed attention is required to develop the whole society’s capacity on preparedness for disaster response & recovery. Building on successes of Early Recovery Facility project, the facility will continue to focus on rapid- scaling up and effective management of SDGs and a developed county status by 2041. The proposed Facility will adopt an “economy-wide” approach and will primarily support Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and gradually expand its support to selected key sectors at all levels for enhancing national capacity and supporting policy making for resilient recovery.
Overview
Implement timely, appropriate and adequate response and recovery assistance to the households, community, businesses for quick return to sustainable development pathways & business continuity
Work with DPs, the UN/Cluster systems to support GoB for carrying out PDNA and mobilizing resources
Support making appropriate policies, financial instruments, and technological innovation on preparedness for recovery through cluster coordination support
Work as, when appropriate, a fund management facility for humanitarian and development agencies to foster cost effective and time efficient mechanism.

DRRF coordinates
DRRF coordinates and collaborates with various ministries of GoB of which Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR) is the focal ministry. DRRF co-chairs the nation’s Early Recovery and Shelter Cluster and partakes in ‘Humanitarian Coordination architecture’ of Bangladesh as per the Standing Order on Disaster (SOD).
