Resilience and Inclusive Growth
The Need for Resilient and Inclusive Growth
Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to the effects of climate change. The loss of biodiversity, a rising sea level, devastating cyclones, and frequent floods and droughts are linked to the rise in global temperatures. The poor are disproportionately affected by these disasters, and lack access to crucial resources to adapt to emerging environmental threat.
Our Goals
Bangladesh has been investing in adaptive measures and creative solutions to make communities more environmentally resilient. UNDP’s support to the Government of Bangladesh emphasizes pro-poor development which will have a sustainable impact. This is done by helping the country to better control its greenhouse gas emissions, manage its natural resources, become more energy efficient and cope with climate change. UNDP ensures that sustainable environmental management lies at the heart of national policies and development planning.
